The “Fix Broken Washington” Project
Three-quarters of Americans think that we are on the wrong track. I, like you, am tired of the partisan politics and games that only lead to additional frustration and yield zero results.
Every year, I visit all 145 towns in the 29th Congressional District, hold multiple telephone town halls meetings and host many town office hours. From these interactions, I know that my constituents are among the best and brightest in America and have many great ideas on how to solve our nation’s problems.
Over the last eight weeks I have asked you to email, fax, or call in your ideas on how Congress can fix Washington. I have received over 400 ideas and have looked at each and every one them. Below are the five ideas that I have chosen and now you can vote on them. Please choose one idea that you think can help fix Washington.
Together, we can create the solutions that will make this country a better place.
Make Stop-Loss illegal (

)
Allocate a percentage of NASA’s annual funding to go toward studying alternative energy
Award $75 million dollar prize to the college, university, or private sector organization that finds an economically viable alternative for gasoline
Make universal default on credit cards illegal (

)
Impose term limits on all members of Congress. U.S. House of Representative should be limited to six terms (12yrs) and U.S. Senators two terms (12yrs)
